On March 12, 2014 we presented our 16th edition of our Tasting Plates event that showcased 7 restaurants, cafes, and bakery, along Fraser and Kingsway in the Kensington-Cedar Cottage neighborhood.

It was an exciting night of tasting all sorts of food including East African  a first  in our Tasting Plates events. One of the hidden gems of the night was Merienda’s Bakeshop for their Filipino baking, you best visit for some of their baked goods soon.

Our Tasting Plate included:

1)   Yam and eggplant Perogy (gluten free) with coconut cheddar sauce, shallot confit, oyster mushroom, and pickled beet shred (V)

2)   Roasted vegetable strata with cashew cream and tomato sauce (gluten free) (V)

3)   Chocolate torte with raspberry rose cream (gluten free) (V)

From our espresso bar we had Rio Chiquito coffee from Columbia and Kanzu coffee from Rawanda both roasted by Elysian coffee here in Vancouver.

Our Tasting Plate included a piece of our famous Carrot Walnut Cinnamon Loaf and Cream Cheese Chocolate Brownie (V)

4)   Smoked Sopressata Pizza Slice – Tomato Sauce, Sopressata, Fior di Latte, Smoked Green Castelvetrano Olives

The restaurants featured many unique and tasty dishes to our guests to eat and drink throughout the evening.
